Is a myQ Video Monitoring plan required to use my myQ products?
No. myQ products include features such as access and motion notifications and live stream without a plan. However, we recommend subscribing to a myQ Video Monitoring plan to get the most out of your video devices with video recording and other advanced features.
Can I try myQ Video Monitoring before I subscribe?
Yes! You'll be enrolled in a free myQ Video Monitoring trial when you first set up your myQ camera, doorbell, video garage door opener or other camera device.
What happens when I add a new myQ camera device?
With myQ Video Monitoring Ultra, all devices at one home address are covered automatically. If you're currently on a Basic or Essential Plan, you can upgrade to an Ultra Plan to cover any additional devices and enjoy our most advanced features.
Are my videos still being recorded even if I do not subscribe?
No video is recorded without a myQ Video Monitoring plan.
Is a myQ Video Monitoring plan required to receive access and motion alerts?
No – access and motion alerts are included with compatible devices and do not require a myQ Video Monitoring plan.
How is my biometric data used?
Your biometric data is stored on the device or on our cloud network (depending on which device is being used) supported by advanced encryption technology. Each video recording, where a person is identified, is analyzed to compare faces* identified in the video against the faces* registered to each account owner’s facial library. If a match is identified, the video is labeled with the name of the identified face* and a notification is sent to alert account owners and co-owners.
